Well, hopes were high for the GRM Volvo V8 Supercar Team going into the first round of the season in Adelaide 28th-1st March. With new main sponsor Wilson Security on board and cars that were at the pointy end in qualifying, some good results were expected in the 3 races held at the Clipsal sponsored event. But things didn’t go to plan. A broken oil pump put the lead driver Scott McLaughlin out in race 1, then a stop/go penalty in race 2 and finally an alternator problem put them 2 laps down in race 3. So despite qualifying in the top 10 all weekend, the results were a disaster. Let’s hope the team has better luck at the Melbourne Grand Prix this weekend.
